Please be advised that all classes at Metro Prep will continue to follow the temporary hybrid schedule until December 18th.
As the city of Toronto continues to experience high COVID-19 case counts, our teachers will continue to blend two days of online teaching per week with their ongoing in-class lessons:
- All students attend school at regular times for in-person learning on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
- All students and teachers use Zoom at-home on Tuesdays and Thursdays with live instruction during regular times.
This schedule has been well-received by Metro Prep families and has worked smoothly for the past 4 weeks, helping to decrease the risk of exposure for students and teachers while maintaining synchronous learning, emotional wellbeing, and academic success.
Our tests, labs, and quizzes are being held in person, at the school on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Lecture-based Zoom sessions are keeping everyone engaged on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and also provide a wonderful opportunity for everyone to see the nice smiles that usually hide under those masks!
During the Winter Break, this temporary situation will be evaluated again. If cases in Toronto have decreased sufficiently and stabilized, full time in-classroom teaching will resume on Monday January 4th.
We ask everyone to continue following the guidance of Toronto Public Health by maintaining physical distance, by wearing masks that always cover your nose and mouth, and by keeping contact limited to members of your own households as much as possible.
